Write item descriptions with AI

Let AI write an item's description and suggest its dietary flags for you.

When you are adding or editing a menu item, Tapimo can draft the description and pre-tick likely dietary flags, so you are not staring at a blank box. You always review what it suggests before saving.

Who can do this

This needs the Manage Menu Items permission. Venue owners have it automatically. It uses AI credits, and your venue's AI persona must be set up first (Tapimo prompts you the first time). See Set up your AI persona and Understand AI credits.

Write a description​

  1. Go to Menu -> Menu Editor and open the item (or start a new one).
  2. On the Basic tab, enter a Title first.
  3. Optionally type a few words in the AI keywords box (for example, crispy, smoky) to steer the tone.
  4. Click the AI button next to the description (the sparkles icon, Generate with AI).
  5. Read what it wrote, edit anything you want, and click Save Changes.

Suggest dietary flags​

  1. On the same item, open the Dietary tab.
  2. Click Suggest with AI. Tapimo ticks the flags it thinks apply (Gluten Free, Vegetarian, Vegan), each marked with a small AI badge.
  3. Check every suggestion and untick anything that is wrong. You are responsible for these being correct, so confirm them against the real recipe.
  4. Click Save Changes.

How to know it worked​

The description box fills with the generated text, and suggested dietary flags are ticked with an AI badge until you confirm them.

Troubleshooting​

The button is greyed out Enter a Title first. The AI works from the title (and your keywords).
