Add a printer
Add a printer, choose how it connects, and link it to your stations.
A printer is a physical device that prints dockets. You give it a name, pick how it connects (its transport), set its paper width, and choose which stations it serves.
Who can do this
This needs the Manage Printers permission, and your plan must include docket printing.
Steps
- Go to Operations -> Printers.
- Under printers, click New printer.
- Enter a Name (for example,
Bar Printer). - Choose a Transport (how it connects):
- Star CloudPRNT / Epson (recommended): the printer polls Tapimo over Wi-Fi. No PC, no monthly fee.
- PrintNode: for a printer that cannot poll a URL. Needs an on-site PC and a paid PrintNode account.
- Manual (no auto-print): Tapimo does not send anything to it automatically.
- Set the Paper width to match your hardware: 80mm (most common) or 58mm for narrow rolls.
- Under In groups, pick the station(s) this printer serves (for example, the Bar Printer belongs to Bar).
- Click Save.
How to know it worked
The printer appears in the list with its transport and an Active status. Next, connect it physically and send a test print.
