Send a test print and reprint dockets
Check a printer with a test docket, and reprint an order's dockets if one jams.
A test print confirms a printer is connected and configured. Reprinting gives you fresh copies of an order's dockets if one jams or runs out of paper.
Who can do this
Test printing needs the Manage Printers permission. Reprinting an order needs the Manage Order Status permission. Both are part of plans that include docket printing.
Send a test print
- Go to Operations -> Printers.
- On the printer's row, click the test-print button (the printer icon, Send a test docket). You can also use Send test print inside the Connect this printer dialog.
- A short test docket should appear at the printer within a few seconds.
Reprint an order's dockets
Reprinting lives with the order, not on the Printers screen.
- Go to Service -> Orders and open the order.
- Click Reprint dockets. Fresh copies print at each station that has matching items.
How to know it worked
The test docket prints within a few seconds, and a reprint produces new copies of the order's dockets.
Troubleshooting
The test print never appears See Troubleshoot a printer that will not print.
