Troubleshoot a printer that will not print
Work through the usual reasons a printer is not printing dockets.
If dockets are not coming out, check these in order. Most problems are the network, the server URL, or how items are routed.
This needs the Manage Printers permission, and your plan must include docket printing.
Nothing prints at all
- Check the printer is on Wi-Fi and can reach the internet.
- Confirm the Server URL is pasted exactly into the printer's CloudPRNT or Server Direct Print setting. See Connect a Star CloudPRNT or Epson printer.
- Make sure the printer is set to Active in Tapimo (its status, not Off).
- Send a test print to isolate the problem. See Send a test print and reprint dockets.
An item prints at the wrong station
Open the item in Menu -> Menu Editor and check its Printer group. Unassigned items go to the default group. See Route menu items to a station.
A station never prints
Make sure the group has at least one Active printer under Prints to. A group with no working printer cannot print.
Orders print twice
If your venue has a POS connected, the POS owns kitchen and bar printing and Tapimo does not auto-print, to avoid double dockets. Tapimo auto-printing applies to standalone venues only. See Connect your POS.
I used PrintNode and nothing prints
Check the PrintNode client is running on the on-site PC, and that the PrintNode printer ID matches the one in your PrintNode account. See Connect a printer via PrintNode.
